The welfare and wellbeing of staff are paramount to what we do and who we are. All our staff, teaching and non-teaching, work incredibly hard and without their contribution we would not be the College we are. All staff are valued and have equal status. As part of our community approach, every member of staff belongs to a House and is encouraged to take part and support the House activities (this can get quite competitive at times!).
Our Staff Representatives are there to listen to staff and present suggestions to Senior Leaders and our Wellbeing Committee ensuring that there is an opportunity for staff to relax, de-stress, eat, drink and switch-off when there is a need to do so.
Professional Development is an essential part of our fabric, indeed it is an expectation at DESC. To facilitate this we have a unique appraisal system that is separate to development opportunities. The Professional Learning Community that we nurture provides a varied approach to ‘getting better’ and encourages staff to take ownership of their own development needs.
Being a not-for-profit organisation means that we can provide excellent resources for our staff and students and we invest in ensuring our packages are competitive amongst the best International Schools.
