Plucky Piers in Pole Position

13-year-old 9E student Piers Pakenham-Walsh is making tremendous strides in the world of karting.  Racing in the 125cc Junior Max class, he is the reigning Dubai Junior Champion. Last season, he claimed podium finishes in every round but one - quite an achievement given the fact that he was competing against top drivers from Europe in many cases.

Piers, who started karting in the UK, is currently looking for sponsorship so that he can maintain his engines and equipment – thus his competitive advantage.

So is it possible that DESC is home to the next Lewis Hamilton who, similarly, started his racing career as a junior karting champion?  Watch this space!
